Compensation for 1[crop, plants or trees] destroyed by occupier.-- If an occupier in carrying out any preventive or remedial measures, directed to be carried out by the notification issued under section 3 2[x x x x] destroys any 3[crop, plants or trees] in accordance with such direction, he shall be entitled to such compensation as he would have been entitled to under section 8, if such 3[crop, plants or trees] had been destroyed by the Inspector. ________________ 1. These words were substituted for the words "trees or plants", ibid., s. 9 (b). 2. The words, brackets and figures "or the notice given under sub-section (1) of section 6," were deleted by Mah. 28 of 1975, s. 6. 3. These words were substituted for the words "tree or plant" by Mah. 4 of 1962, s. 9 (a).

Title: Horse to Be Destroyed if Found Diseased: Otherwise Restored

(1) If the Veterinary Practitioner certifies in writing that the horse is diseased, the Inspector shall cause the same to be immediately destroyed. Provided that, in the case of any disease other than glanders or farcy, horses certified to be diseased as a foresaid may, subject to any rules which the State Government may make in this behalf, be either destroyed or otherwise treated kor dealt with as the Veterinary Practitioner may deem necessary. (2) If, after completing the examination, the Veterinary Practitioner does not certify that the horse is diseased, the Inspector shall at once deliver the same to the person entitled to the possession thereof.

Title: Mischief with Intent to Destroy or Make Unsafe a Decked Vessel or One of Twenty Tons Burden

Whoever commits mischief to any decked vessel or any vessel of a burden of twenty tons or upwards, intending to destroy or render unsafe, or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby destroy or render unsafe, that vessel, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Dourine Act, 1910 Section 9

Title: Compensation for Hose Destroyed, Etc

When any horse is castrated or destroyed under section 8, the market-value of such horse immediately before it became affected with dourine shall be ascertained; and the State Government shall pay as compensation to the owner thereof-- (a) in the case of a mare which has been destroyed, or of an entire horse which has died in consequence of castration, such market-value, and, (b) in the case of an entire horse which survives castration, half the amount by which such value has been diminished owing to infection with dourine and castration.

Karnataka Preservation of Trees Act 1976 Section 10

Title: Planting in Place of Fallen or Destroyed Trees

(1) Where any tree has fallen or is destroyed by wind, fire, lightning, torrential rain or such other natural causes, the Tree Officer may suo moto or on information given to him, after holding such enquiry as he deems fit, by order, require such owner or occupier to plant a tree or trees in place of the trees fallen or destroyed, of the same or other species at the same or other suitable place as may be specified in the order. (2) The owner or the occupier of the land shall comply with such order within thirty days from the receipt thereof or such extended time as the Tree Officer may allow.

(1) When any animal, poultry, fish or other article of food (or any utensil or vessel) is seized under section 387, it may, with the consent of the owner or person in whose possession it was found, be forthwith destroyed, and if the article is perishable, without such consent. (2) Any expenses incurred in destroying anything under sub-section(1), shall be paid by the owner or person in whose possession such thing was at the time of the seizure.

Powers of1[Agriculture and Rural Development Bank] where mortgaged property is destroyed or security becomes insufficient Where any property mortgaged to an1[Agriculture and Rural Development Bank] is wholly or partially destroyed or the security is rendered insufficient and the mortgagor, having been given a reasonable opportunity by the committee of the1[Agriculture and Rural Development Bank], of providing further security enough to render the whole security sufficient or of repaying such portion of the loan as may be determined by the committee, has failed to provide such security or to repay such portion of the loan, the whole of the loan shall be deemed to fall due at once and the committee shall be entitled to take action against the mortgagor under section 88 or section 89 for the recovery thereof. Explanation.--A security is insufficient within the meaning of this section unless the value of the mortgaged property exceeds the amount for the time being due on the mortgage by such proportion as may be specified in the bye-laws of the1[Agriculture and Rural Development Bank]. _____________________ 1. Title: Compensation for Animals Destroyed

State: Maharashtra

(1) The owner of an animal destroyed under sub-section (2) of section 9 may be paid such compensation as shall be determined in the manner prescribed : Provided that, no compensation shall be paid - (i) to any person convicted of any offence punishable under this Act committed in respect of such animal; or (ii) in respect of any animal which, when it was imported, was affected with a scheduled disease on account of which it was destroyed. (2) The decision under sub-section (1) regarding the right of a person to be paid any compensation or the amount of such compensation shall be final.

Any Magistrate or Police Officer not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector may, if he is of opinion that it is necessary so to do, destroy any arms dump, prepared or fortified position or shelter from which armed attacked are made or are likely to be made or are attempted to be made or any structure used as training camp for armed volunteers or utilised as a hide-out by armed gangs or absconders wanted for any offence.
