Title: The Power of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Fort William Shall Extend over the Province of Benares and All Places Subordinate Thereto, and All Districts Hereafter Annexed to the Presidency of Fort William

.....time to time by his Majesty, his heirs and successors, with full power to exercise such civil criminal admiralty and ecclesiastical jurisdictions, both as to natives and British subjects, and to be invested with such power and authorities, privileges and immunities, for the better administration of the same, and subject to the same limitations, restrictions and control within the said Fort Saint George and town of Madras and the limits thereof and the factories sub ordinate thereto, and within the territories which now are or hereafter may be subject to or dependent upon the said government of Madras, as the said supreme court of judicature at Fort William in Bengal, by virtue of any law now in force and unrepealed or by this present Act, doth consist of, is invested with or subject to, within the said Fort William or the kingdoms or provinces of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa.

THE BENGAL DISTRICTS ACT,1836 [Act, No. 21 of 1836] [AS ON 1956] {Short title given by the Amending Act, 1903 (1 of 1903), Schedule I. The Act has been declared by the Laws Local Extent Act,1874(15 of 1874),s.6,to be in force throughout the former Province of Bengal, except the Scheduled Districts. It has been declared by notification under the Scheduled Districts Act, 1874 (14 of 1874), section 3, to be in force in-- West Jalpaiguri and the Western Duars in the Jalpaiguri District See Gazette of India, 1881, Pt., p.74 The districts of Hazaribagh Ranchi, Palamau and Manbhum, and Pargana Dhalbhum and the kolhan in the district of Singbhum, in the Chota Nagpur Division...... The (Bengal) Alluvion & Diluvion Act, 1847 Complete Act

.....bears to the mufassal jama of the whole estate; but, if the mufassal jama of the whole estate or of the land lost cannot be ascertained to the satisfaction of the local Revenue authorities, then the said local Revenue authorities shall make a deduction from the sadar jama of the estate equal to so much of the whole sadar jama of the estate as bears to the whole in the same proportion as the land lost bears to the whole estate. And this deduction with the reasons thereof, shall be forthwith reported by the local Revenue-authorities for the information and orders of the Board of Revenue whose orders thereupon shall be final. Section 6 - Assessment of increments to revenue paying estates Whenever on inspection of any such new map it shall appear to the local Revenue authorities that land has been added to any estate paying revenue directly to Government, they shall without delay assess the same with a revenue payable to Government according to the rules in force for assessing alluvial increments, and shall report their proceedings forthwith to the Board of Revenue, whose orders thereupon shall be final.
