Title: Establishment of Consumer Disputes Redressal Agencies

Thereshall be established for the purposes of this Act, the following agencies,namely:-- (a) a Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum to be knownas the "District Forum" established by the State Government 1 [** *] in each district of the State by notification: 2 [Provided that the State Government may, if it deems fit,establish more than one District Forum in a district;] (b) a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to beknown as the "State Commission" established by the State Government 1 [** *] in the State by notification; and (c) a National Consumer Disputes RedressalCommission established by the Central Government by notification. _________________________ 1. (2) Any reference in this Act to any other Act or provision thereof which is not in force in any area to which this Act applies shall be construed to have a reference to the corresponding Act or provision thereof in force in such area.
