Preamble .- WHEREAS, it is expedient to amend the Kerala (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes ) Regulation of Issue of Community Certificates Act, 1996 for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement .- (1) This Act may be called the Kerala (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Regulation of Issue of Community certificates (Amendment) Act, 2008. For the removal of doubts, it is declared that, the amendments made by section 2 to 7 of this Act to the Bombay Paragana and Kulkarni Watans (Abolition) Act, 1950 (Bom. LX of 1950), the Bombay Service Inams (Useful to Community) Abolition Act, 1953 (Bom. LXX of 1953), the Bombay Merged Territories Miscellaneous Alienations Abolition Act; 1955 (Bom. XXII of 1955), the Bombay Inferior Village Watans Abolition Act, 1958 (Bom. I of 1959) and the Maharashtra Revenue Patels (Abolition of Office) Act, 1962 (Mah. XXXV of 1962), respectively, shall not be applicable for the transfer of occupancy in respect of the Mohar Watan lands and Devasthan lands.
