An Act further to amend the Kerala Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1986. Preamble- WHEREAS, it is expedient further to amend the Kerala Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1986 for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fifty-ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Water Supply and Sewerage (Amendment) Act, 2008. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of January, 2008. 2. Amendment of section 2.- In section 2 of the Kerala Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1986 (14 of 1986) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),- (i) for clause (vii), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:- "(vii) "domestic sewage" means waste water from any house or residence arising out of personal and normal human activities such as drinking, bathing, washing and cooking;"; (ii) after clause (x), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(xa) "flat" means buildings/independent villas having ten or more dwelling units or buildings.....
