The New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994 Complete Act

.....performance, amusement, game or sport to which persons are ordinarily admitted on payment; (14) "factory" means a factory as defined in the Factories Act, 1948 (63 of 1948 ); (15) "filth" includes offensive matter and sewage; (16) "goods" includes animals; (17) "Government" means the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi; (18) "house- gully" means a passage or strip of land constructed, set apart or utilised for the purpose of serving as or carrying a drain or affording access to a latrine, urinal, cesspool or other receptacle for filth or other polluted matter, by municipal employee or other person employed in the cleansing thereof or in the removal of such matter therefrom; (19) "hut" means any building which is constructed principally of wood, bamboo, mud, leaves, grass, cloth or thatch and includes any structure of whatever material made which the Council may declare to be a hut for the purposes of this Act; (20) "inhabitant", in relation to the municipal area of New Delhi includes any person ordinarily residing or carrying on business or owning or occupying immovable property therein and in case of a dispute, means any person or persons.....

.....Bill seeks to achieve these objectives.- S.O.R. -Gaz. of Ind., 13-8-1962, Pt. II, S. 2, Ext., p.641. Act 21 of 1964.- The working of the Advocates Act, enacted in May, 1961, has revealed certain practical difficulties and representations in this behalf have been received from various State Bar Councils and other associations. The Bar Council of India has also suggested certain amendments to the Act. Difficulties were being experienced mainly in regard to the functioning of the Bar Councils and the Committees thereof and also in regard to the enrolment as advocates of certain classes of persons who may not fall strictly within the scope ofsections 17and24of the Act. It is considered necessary that the Act should be suitably amended for removing such difficulties and for facilitating the implementation of its provisions. 2. The Act provides for the general supervision and control of the Bar Council of India over all State Bar Councils in order that they may, in the exercise of their powers, follow a uniform all-India policy. The powers given to the Bar Council of India in this behalf are, however, inadequate and it is considered necessary to enlarge its powers. It is therefore.....

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-- (a) "compensation pool" means the compensation pool constituted under section 14; (b) "displaced person" means any person who, on account of the setting up of the Dominions of India and Pakistan, or on account of civil disturbances or the fear of such disturbances in any area now forming part of West Pakistan, has, after the first day of March, 1947, left, or been displaced from, his place of residence in such area and who has been subsequently residing in India, and includes any person who is resident in any place now forming part of India and who for that reason is unable or has.....
