.....in the case of services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union and of the State respectively, it was not considered necessary to enact the Act, referred to above. 2. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of the Punjab issued the rules as contained in the First Edition and reprint thereof. Since the issue of the First Edition (reprint)m there have been several changes in the Leave Rules any Pay Fixation Rules, and enhanced powers have been delegated to the various authorities during 1962. The present edition incorporates correction slips Nos.1 to 222, amendments Nos. 1 to 30 of 1962 and 1 to 26 of 1963 to the First Edition (reprint), and thus brings the compilation up-to-date. 3. From Ist November 1956, the erstwhile State of Pepsu and Punjab have been integrated into the new State called Punjab. Under proviso to Section 115 (7) of the States Re-organisation Act, 1956, no rule can be amended or made, which would adversely affect the conditions of service of the employees of the erstwhile States of Punjab and Pepsu, except with the specific approval of the Government of India. .....are entitled to all the privileges which a police officer has under sections 42and43 of the Police Act, 1861,section 125 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872and any other enactment for the time being in force. It is considered necessary to confer such privileges on the riflemen also. It is also considered that the Commandants, Assistant Commandants and riflemen should have the sane protection for acts done by them in the discharge of police duties as has been conferred on the members of the Central Reserve Police Force. The riflemen are posted for duty in the N.E.F.A., Nagaland and other border areas where there are no regular police forces. During the discharge of their duties, it is necessary for them to make searches, arrests, etc. To enable them to make searches, arrests, etc., it is proposed to confer on them the powers of a police officer. To facilitate the inquiry and trial of offences committed by riflemen, it is also proposed to confer magisterial powers on the Commandant and Assistant Commandants. .....Marriages' means 'the Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages appointed under the Mysore Registrar-General of Births, Deaths and Marriages Act, 1956', "-Mysore Act 20 of 1956, S. 1- [29-10-1956] r/w Act 31 of 1973, S. 5 [1-11-1973]. PART 1: THE PERSONS BY WHOM MARRIAGES MAY BE SOLEMNIZED: SECTION 4: Marriages to be solemnized according to Act: Every marriage between persons, one or Marriages both of whom is [or are] a Christian or .Christians, shall be solemnized in accordance with the provisions of the next following section; and any such marriage solemnized otherwise than in accordance with such provisions shall be void. SECTION 5: Persons by whom marriages may be solemnized: Marriages may be solemnized in [India]- (1) by any person who has received episcopal ordination; provided that the marriage be solemnized according to the rules, rites, ceremonies and customs of the Church of which he is a Minister; (2) by any Clergyman of the Church of Scotland, provided that such marriage besolemnized according to the rules, rites, ceremonies and customs of the Church of Scotland; (3) by any Minister of Religion licensed under this Act to solemnize marriages; .....

THE COCHIN CHRISTIAN CIVIL MARRIAGE ACT, 1095 THE COCHIN CHRISTIAN CIVIL MARRIAGE ACT, 1095 [Act No. 5 of 1095] [ 17th day of January 1920] PREAMBLE (Substituted for ' Raja' by Section 2 of Act 1 of 1109) [ An Act to provide for Legalising Civil Marriages between Persons Professing Christianity in the Cochin State. Whereas it is deemed desirable to make provision for legalising civil marriages between persons Professing the Christian religion; It is hereby enacted as follows:- Section 1 - Short title This Act may be cited as The Cochin Christian Civil Marriage Act, V of 1095". Section 2 - Local extent and Commencement It extends to the whole of the Cochin State, and shall come into force at once. Section 3 - Interpretation clause In this Act, unless there is something repugnant in the subject or context:- The expression "Christian" means persons professing the Christian religion; "Minor" means a person who has not completed the age of 21 years, and who is not a widower or a widow. Section 4 - Persons by whom marriages may be solemnized A Marriage between persons, one or both of whom is or are a Christian or Christians but neither of whom.....

.....of new section 6A : " In the Kerala Motor Transport Workers' Payment of Fair Wages Act, 1971 (23 of 1971) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) after section 6 the following section shall be inserted, namely: " "6A. Power of Government to amend the Schedule : " (1) The Government may at any time and shall, at the expiration of five years from the 15th day of January, 1997 and thereafter at the expiration of every five years, by order published in the Gazette revise the rate of wages payable to the motor transport workers specified in the Schedule to this Act by suitably amending the Schedule. (2) Every notification made under this section shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before the Legislative Assembly while it is in session for a total period of fourteen days which may be comprised on one session or in two successive sessions and if before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the session immediately following, the Legislative Assembly makes any modification in the notification or decides that the notification shall not be made, the notification shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may.....

The Kerala Motor Transport Workers Paymentof Fair Wages Act 1971 Complete Act

Fair wages payable to motor transport workers .- Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law, rule, order or notification having the force of law or contract, every employer shall pay to any motor transport worker under his employment fair wages in respect of his employment, or the work done in such employment: Provided that the arrears of fair wages payable by an employer for any period prior to the date of publication of this Act in the Gazette shall be paid before the expiry of six months after the date of such publication in not mere than six monthly instalments. 2 ["Provided further that the arrears of fair wages payable by an employer by virtue of the Kerala Motor Transport Workers' Payment of Fair Wages (Amendment) Act, 1988 for any period prior to the date of publication of the said Act shall be paid before the expiry of three months after the date of such publication, in not more than three monthly instalments."] 4. Penalty for non-payment of fair wages.- Any employer who refuses to pay fair wages as provided in this Act to any motor transport worker without reasonable cause shall, on conviction be punishable.....
