Title: Definitions

.....Core Area Zone, Buffer Zone and Peripheral Zones, but excluding the area referred to as protected area under the Ancient Monuments and Historical sites and Remains Act, 1958 (Central Act 24 of 1958); (m) "Local Authority" means a Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Grama Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, Zilla Panchayat, town Panchayat and a local authority is a "local authority" concerned, if any land within its local limits fall in the area of a plan prepared or to be prepared under the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1963); (n) "Land" includes benefits arising out of land and things attached to the earth or permanently fastened to anything attached to the earth; (o) "Natural Environs" includes the rivers, river beds, rocks, water sources, wild life and vegetation located in the Heritage Area; (p) "Peripheral Zone" means the area specified in Part-C of the Schedule; (q) "Schedule" means Schedule appended to this Act. (2) Other words and expressions used but not defined in the Act shall have meanings respectively assigned to them in the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act, 1961 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1963).

Prisons Act, 1894 Chapter VI

Title: Food, Clothing and Bedding of Civil and Unconvicted Criminal Prisoners

.....between certain prisoners No part of any food, clothing, bedding or other necessaries belonging to any civil or unconvicted criminal prisoner shall be given, hired or sold to any other prisoner; and any prisoner transgressing the provisions of this section shall lose the privilege of purchasing food or receiving it from private sources, for such time as the Superintendent thinks proper. Section 33 - Supply of clothing and bedding to civil and unconvicted criminal prisoners (1) Every civil prisoner and unconvicted criminal prisoner unable to provide himself with sufficient clothing and bedding shall be supplied by the Superintendent with such clothing and bedding as may be necessary. (2) When any civil prisoner has been committed to prison in execution of a decree in favour of a private person, such person, or his representative, shall, within forty-eight hours after the receipt by him of a demand in writing, pay to the Superintendent the cost of the clothing and bedding so supplied to the prisoner and in default of such payment the prisoner may be released.

(2) When a civil prisoner has been committed to prison by a Court in execution of any decree or order in favour of a private person, such person shall immediately deposit or cause to be deposited in Court, to meet the cost of the prisoner's clothing and bedding, such amount as may be fixed by the Court in accordance with the rules, if any, made by the State Government in that behalf; and in default of such deposit, the prisoner may be released.
