THE PONDICHERRY MONTS DE PIETE INSTITUTIONS (ABOLITION) ACT, 1969 (Act No. 4 of 1969) 7th June, 1969 An Act to provide for the abolition of the Monts de Piete Institutions in the Union territory of Pondicherry and for matters connected therewith. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry in the Twentieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, extent and commencement:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Pondicherry Monts de Piete Institutions (Abolition) Act, 1969. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Pondicherry. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. Definitions:- 2. In this Act, "Government" means the Administrator appointed by the President under article 239 of the Constitution. .....

Any person aggrieved- (a) By any judgment, decree, order or sentence of the Tribunal de Relacao passed or made before the 20th December, 1961, against which an appeal would lie to a superior Court in Portugal in accordance with law but could not be preferred by reason of Goa, Daman and Diu becoming part of the territory of India, or against which an appeal having been preferred to a superior Court in Portugal in accordance with law had not been disposed of before the said date; or (b) By any judgment, decree, order or sentence of the Tribunal de Relacao passed or made on or after the 20th December, 1961, may, within ninety days from the date of passing of this Act, prefer an appeal from such judgment, decree, order or sentence to the Supreme Court as if such judgment, decree, order or sentence had been passed or made by the Judicial Commissioner's Court.

.....in the case of services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union and of the State respectively, it was not considered necessary to enact the Act, referred to above. 2. In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of the Punjab issued the rules as contained in the First Edition and reprint thereof. Since the issue of the First Edition (reprint)m there have been several changes in the Leave Rules any Pay Fixation Rules, and enhanced powers have been delegated to the various authorities during 1962. From Ist November 1956, the erstwhile State of Pepsu and Punjab have been integrated into the new State called Punjab. Goa, Daman and Diu Mining Concessions (Abolition and Declaration as Mining Leases) Act, 1987 Complete Act

.....1987 16 of 1987 23rd May, 1987 After Goa, Daman and Diu became part of India, the provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development) Act 1957(1957 Act) except section 16 were extended to that Union territory with effect from 1-10-1963 and section 16 was extended with effect from 15-1-1966. The Controller of Mining Leases in exercise of the powers conferred on him under section 16 of the Act, proceeded with the modification of the mining concessions granted under the earlier Portuguese Mining Laws of 1906 so as to bring them in conformity with the provisions of the 1957 Act. The concession holders challenged the proceedings of the Controller on the ground that the concessions held by them were not existing mining leases within the meaning of the provisions of the 1957 Act, The Bombay High Court in its judgment dated 29-9-1983 held that the concessions were not mining leases within the meaning of 1957 Act. As a result of this judgment, the Controller of Mining Leases could not take further action to modify the concessions. The High Court in another case held that no royalty could be charged on the minerals extracted by the concession holder, as such mining.....
