THE MAHARASHTRA UNIVERSITIES ACT, 1994 THE MAHARASHTRA UNIVERSITIES ACT, 1994 Act No. XXXV of 1994 July, 1994 As Amended by Maharashtra Universities Act LV of 2000 w.e.f. 12.5.2000 An Act to unify, consolidate and amend the law relating to the non-agricultural and non-technological universities in the State of Maharashtra. WHEREAS IT is expedient to provide for a unified pattern for the constitution and administration of non-agricultural and non-technological universities in the State of Maharashtra and to make better provisions thereof ; AND WHEREAS with a view to consider and recommend measures for better governance of such universities and reorganisation of higher education, the Central Government and the Government of Maharashtra had appointed various commit tees and study groups; AND WHEREAS after considering the recommendations made by these committees and groups, and the experience gained in implementing the present university Acts, it is felt necessary to make provisions to enable each university to effectively carry out with responsibility the objects of the university, to promote more equitable distribution of facilities for higher education, to provide for.....

THE AYUSH AND HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF CHHATTISGARH ACT, 2008 THE AYUSH AND HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF CHHATTISGARH ACT, 2008 [Act No. 21 of 2008] ( Published in Chhattisgarh Rajpatra (Asadharan) dated 16-9-2008 Pages 616(44-85).) [16th September, 2008] PREAMBLE An Act to establish and incorporate a teaching, research and affiliating university for the purpose of ensuring efficient and systematic education, training, research and development of Health Sciences including Modern System of Medicine, Ayurved, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Public Health. Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Ayush and Health Sciences University of Chhattisgarh Act, 2008. .....the Central Government as it might have been enforced by or against the Treasurer or the Board of Administration or such other person if this Act had not been enacted, and shall cease to be enforceable by or against the Treasurer or the Board of Administration or such other person. SECTION 04: PAYMENT OF AMOUNT (1) The Central Government shall give, in cash, to the Treasurer an amount equivalent to the sum of rupees one lakh for the transfer to, and vesting in, the Central Government, under section 3-, of the Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital. (2) The amount, referred to in sub-section (1), shall be paid within three months from the appointed day (hereafter in this section referred to as the specified period). (3) The amount, referred to in sub-section (1), if not paid within the specified period, shall carry interest at the rate of four per cent. per annum from the date of expiry of the specified period until the payment thereof.
