The East Punjab Refugees (Registration of Claims) Act, 1948 Complete Act

.....or any person acting under his directions in respect of anything done or purporting to have been done in pursuance of the provisions of this Act. Section 8 - Offences Whoever intentionally makes to the Registrar a false statement in re spect of his claims, shall be deemed to have committed an offence under this Act and shall be liable to rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both. Title: Commencement of proceedings

.....shall be made within a period of three years from the date on which the cause of action arose. Explanation.--For the purpose of this sub-section,-- (a) the cause of action in respect of a claim for benefit shall not be deemed to arise unless the insured person or in the case of dependants' benefit, the dependants of the insured person claims or claim that benefit in accordance with the regulations made in that behalf within a period twelve months after the claim became due or within such further period as the Employees' Insurance Court may allow on grounds which appear to it to be reasonable; 2[(b) the cause of action in respect of a claim by the Corporation for recovering contributions (including interest and damages) from the principal employer shall be deemed to have arisen on the date on which such claim is made by the Corporation for the first time: Provided that no claim shall be made by the Corporation after five years of the period to which the claim relates; (c) the cause of action in respect of a claim by the principal employer for recovering contributions from an immediate employer shall not be deemed to arise till the date by which the evidence of.....

BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 67 of 1948 An Act to amend the law relating to tenancies of agricultural lands and to make certain other provisions in regard to those lands. WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the law which governs the relations of landlords and tenants of agricultural lands; AND WHEREAS, on account of the neglect of a landholder or disputes betsveen a landholder and his tenants, the cultivation of his estate has seriously suffered, or for the purpose of improving the economic and social conditions of peasants or ensuring the full and efficient use of land for agriculture, it is expedient to assume management of estates held by landholders and to regulate and impose restrictions on the transfer of agricultural lands, dwelling houses, sites and lands appurtenant thereto belonging to or occupied by agriculturists, agricultural labourers and artisans in the Province of Bombay and to make provisions for certain other purpose hereinafter appearing; It is enacted as follows:- CHAPTER 1 Preliminary Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the BOMBAY.....
