.....in regard to any dispute if the question at issue between a co-operative society and a bank is one involving complicated questions of law and fact, until the question has been tried by a regular suit instituted by one of the parties to the dispute and if any such suit is not instituted, within two months from the order of the Registrar suspending the procee dings, the Registrar shall take action as is provided in sub-section (1). 18. Procedure for hearing of disputes. .....shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 1975. Definitions [Substituted by the Orissa Additional Sales Tax (Amendment) Act, 1979 (Or. Act 3 of 1979), s.2, w.e.f. the 1st April, 1979.] 2 . In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:- 74 of 1956 (a) "declared goods" shall have the same meaning as in clause (c) of section 2 of the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956; Orissa Act 14 of 1947. (b) words and expressions used but not defined shall have the same meanings as are respectively assigned to them in the Orissa Sales Tax Act, 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act). Levy of additional tax. 3 . (1) Every dealer shall, in addition to the tax payable by him for a year under the said Act, be liable to pay additionaltax at such rate not exceeding one percent of his gross turnover for that year, as may be notified, from time to time, by the State Government : Provided that no additional tax as aforesaid shall be payable on that part of the gross turnover which relates to sale and purchase of declared goods: Provided further that the State Government may, by notification, subject to such conditions, and restriction, if any, exempt.....

The Orissa Municipal (Valuation of Holdings (Validation) Act, 1975 Complete Act

.....in the Orissa Municipal Act, 1950 or the rules made thereunder or in any judgment, decree or order of any court, no valuation list prepared in respect ofholdings situate in any Municipality during the period between the 1st day of August, 1968 and the 14th day of February, 1970, shall be deemed to be invalid or ever to have been invalid merely by reason of the fact that such list was prepared prior to the enforcement of Chapter XII-A of the Orissa Municipal Rules, 1953 which prescribes the manner of inquiry for determination of the annual value of holdings; and all taxes levied in accordance with such valuation list shall be deemed to have been validly levies and all such valuation lists shall continue to remain in force until new valuation lists are prepared in accordance with law. .....exceeding Rs. 3,000. This bill seeks to achieve the above object. Section 1 - Short title This Act may be called the Court-fees (Orissa Amendment) Act, 1975. Section 2 - Insertion of new Section 18-A After Section 18 of the Court-fees Act, 1870, as in force in the State of Orissa the following new section shall be inserted, namely: "18-A. Exemption to women- (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act no plaint in respect of a suit filed by a woman, whose annual income does not exceed three thousand rupees, for maintenance or for enhancement of maintenance or for recovery of share in the estate of her deceased husband or parent in the family property and no petitions filed by any such woman for divorce on ground of cruelty or other misconduct on the part of her husband shall be chargeable with Court-fees. (2) The Court in which such plaint or petition is filed shall have power to make such inquiry as it deems fit for assessing the income of the plaintiff or the petitioner, as the case may be". No. 1788/10.11.1975.] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Registration Act, 1908 in its application to the State of Orissa Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic of India, as follows: Section 1 - Short title This Act may be called the Registration (Orissa Amendment) Act, 1975. Section 2 - Amendment of Section 69 In Section 69 of the Registration Act, 1908 (16 of 1908) in Sub-section (1), after Clause (b), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely: "(bb) providing for the grant of licences to document writers, the revocation of such licences, the terms and conditions subject to which and the authority by whom such licences shall be granted, the exemption of any class of document writers from the licensing provisions and the conditions subject to which such exemption shall be granted and generally for all purposes connected with the writing of documents to be presented for registration".
