The Orissa Prevention of Land Encroachment Act, 1972 Complete Act

.....the Orissa Prevention of Land Encroachment (Amend ment) Act, 1974 (Or. Act 4 of 1975), S. 7 (a)) [Tahasildar] shall hold a summary inquiry into the facts of the case and if satisfied that the resistance or obstruction was without any just cause and that such resistance or obstruction still continues, may issue a warrant for the arrest of the ?aid person and on his appearance may send him with a warrant in the form appended to Schedule I for imprisonment in the Civil Jail of the District for a period not exceeding thirty days as may be necessary to prevent the continuance of such resistance or obstruction. 8. stay of construction. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act were in force on the day on which such thing was done or such action was taken. .....(Orissa Amendment) Act, 1972. Section 2 - Amendment of Section 32 In Section 32 of the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after Sub-section (2), the following proviso shall be and shall be deemed always to have been inserted, namely: "Provided that the State, Government may, for sufficient cause, from time to time, extend the period for making application for registration under this sub-section." Section 3 - Validation of registration-Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act (a) all registrations of dentists made in pursuance of applications for registration received on or before the 31st March, 1962; and (b) the register of dentists first prepared and published on the 19th day of September, 1963, shall be deemed to have been validly made, prepared and published under the principal Act as amended by this Act. .....done or taken after the 30th day of June 1971, shall be deemed to be invalid merely by reason of the existence of any vacancy among the members of the said Syndicate as reconstituted after the said date; (b) the Syndicate consisting of the members holding office immediately prior to the date of coming into force of this Act shall continue to exercise the powers and perform the functions of the Syndicate of the said University till the election of the members specified in clause (g) of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the said Act; and (c) the term of office of the members of the Syndicate holding office immediately prior to the date of coming into force of this Act, other than the ex officio members, shall be co-terminus with the term of office of the members specified in clause (g) as aforesaid.
