The Orissa Limitation (Recovery of Revenue) Act, 1964 Complete Act

..... Removal of doubts. 4 . For the removal of doubts it is hereby declared that nothing contained in this Act shall be construed so as to revive the claim for any such dues as aforesaid the recovery of which has become time-barred prior to the coming into force of this Act. Amendment of section 12, Orissa Act 11 of 1962. Orissa Act 11 of 1961. 5 . For section 12 of the Orissa Cess Act, 1962 the following section shall be substituted, namely:- "12. If any instalment of cess or part thereof payable to Government or Intermediary is not paid within fifteen days from the date on which the same becomes due, the amount of such instalment or part thereof, together with interest at the rate of six percentum per annum calculated from the date on which such instalment became due and the costs of recovering the same, may be recovered at any time within:- (a) three years after it becomes due, if the same is payable to an Intermediary; and (b) ten years after it becomes due, if the same is payable to Government." The Orissa Vesting of Properties (in Grama Sasans) Act, 1964 Complete Act

(1) The provisions of this Act and the rules and orders made thereunder shall, so far as may be, apply in relation to a tank, orchard or tree belong ing to Government, the possession, management and control whereof has vested in the Grama Sasan in pursuance of an order made by Government before the date of commencement of this Act and shall, subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), have force and effect as fully and effectively as if the vesting of possession, management and control of such property in the Grama Sasan had been effected under this Act on the date aforesaid: Provided that nothing herein contained shall have the effect of extinguishing any rights in such property validly created in favour of any person be the Grama Sasan at any time after the date of the orders of Government as aforesaid. Section 2 - Insertion of new Section 87-A After Section 87 of the Indian Registration Act, 1908 (Act 16 of 1908) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), the following new section shall be inserted, namely : "87-A. Delegation of powers.-- The State Government may, by order, delegate all or any of the powers conferred on them under this Act to the Inspector-General of Registration, who shall exercise the same subject to such restrictions and conditions as the State Government may impose and they may in like manner withdraw any power so delegated". Section 3 - Validation of actions Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act- (a) the districts and sub-districts formed (b) the limits of such districts and sub-districts altered; (c) all appointments including postings and transfers of Registrars and Sub-Registrars made; and (d) offices of Registrars, Sub-Registrars and Joint Sub-Registrars established, by the Inspector-General of Registration by orders made from time to time in that behalf prior to the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to have been validly formed, altered, made and established.....
