THE DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT, 2005 THE DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT, 2005 NO. 53 OF 2005 [23rd December, 2005.] An Act to provide for the effective management of disasters and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Disaster Management Act, 2005. (2) It extends to the whole of India.
