NURSES AND MIDWIVES ACT, 1953 Act X of 1953 [1] [2] [*********************]NURSES AND MIDWIVES ACT, 1953 Preamble.- WHEREAS, it is expedient to provide for the registration and training of [3] ["nurses, midwives, health visitors and auxiliary nurse-midwives"] in the State of Travancore-Cochin; It is hereby enacted as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the [4] ["Nurses and Midwives Act,] 1953. [5] ["(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala"] (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint. 2.
