Creation of range. Police 9. The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, divide the entire geographical area of the State into one or more police ranges. Each range, comprising two or more police districts, shall be headed by an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police who shall supervise the police administration of the range and report to the Director General of Police. Police districts 10. The State Government, in consultation with the Director General of Police, may by notification in the Official Gazette, declare any area within the State to be a police district.
