60-second version
- Go to LegalDraft Studio - search, browse, and download templates free (no login).
- Open a template and click Generate with AI to launch DraftPilot - draft on the left, GPT-powered chat on the right.
- Resume saved workspaces anytime at /forms/draft-pilot (login + AI Studio plan required).
In one sentence
Effortlessly craft professional legal documents with 500+ templates - open DraftPilot from any template to edit with AI, compare drafts side-by-side, or download instantly.
Before you start
Browse and download at /forms is free. DraftPilot (AI editing) lives under LegalDraft Studio, not the AI Studio hub - but it uses the same AI Studio subscription on your Profile. When you click Generate with AI on a template, the full draft loads into a split workspace: live draft on the left, chat on the right. Workspaces are saved per user for later access.
Steps
- Open LegalDraft Studio from the navigation.
- Search or browse categories, then open a template.
- Click Generate with AI (or Review - same DraftPilot workspace).
- Log in and ensure AI Studio is active on your plan if prompted.
- In DraftPilot, type edit instructions in the chat - e.g. party names, facts, dates, clauses.
- Watch the left panel update when DraftPilot rewrites the draft.
- Return later via /forms/draft-pilot to resume the same workspace.
- Optionally Download the original template file, Export Word from DraftPilot when finished editing, or use Compare for side-by-side template diffing.
What you'll see
DraftPilot shows a two-column layout: a rich-text document editor on the left (bold, lists, alignment, undo) with Save and Export Word, plus multi-turn AI chat on the right. Exported files are .docx (or .doc fallback). The compare page (/forms/compare) shows two template IDs side-by-side without AI.
Common mistakes
- Expecting DraftPilot without login - sign in and activate AI Studio on your plan.
- Confusing DraftPilot with DocMind - DocMind is for uploaded/judgment documents in AI Studio; DraftPilot is for LegalDraft templates.
- Assuming AI output is filing-ready - always verify with a qualified advocate.
Tips
- Re-open the same template to resume your latest DraftPilot workspace automatically.
- Use Compare first to pick between two similar templates, then open DraftPilot on the better fit.
- Pair with AI Studio judgment briefs when you need precedent context for drafting.
