Omnibus, a vehicle for all. By the Town Police Clauses Act, 1889 (52 & 53 Vict. c. 14), bye-laws, may be made under the Town Police Clauses Act, 1847 (see that title), for regulation of omnibuses, which term is defined bys. 3, and includes, for the purposes of the Act, char-a-bancs, wagonettes, brakes, stage-coaches, and other carriages plying or standing for hire by or used to carry passengers at separate fares.
