Libertate probanda, an ancient writ which lay for such as being demanded for villeins offered to prove themselves free; addressed to the sheriff, that he should take security from them for the proof of their freedom before the justices of assize, and that in the meantime they should be unmolested, Fitz. N.B. 77.
