Latimer - Definition - Law Dictionary Home Dictionary Definition latimer

Definition :

Latimer [fr. latinier, Fr., form of atiner], an interpreter, according to Coke (2 Inst. 515). It is suggested that it should be latiner, because he who understood Latin might be a good interpreter. Camden makes it signify a Frenchman or interpreter (Britan., f. 598).
