Hundredors

Legal definition for Indian law research

Definition

Hundredors, men of a hundred.

Until 1886 hundredors were liable for damage done by riots, under 7 & 8 Geo. 4, c. 31, which superseded all the prior statutes (repealed by 7 & 8 Geo. 4, c. 27) relative to such liability. But the Riot Damages Act, 1886 (49 & 50 Vict. c. 38), has transferred the liability to 'police districts.' See RIOT DAMAGES.
