Hospital, includes a nursing home, clinic, medical centre, medical or teaching institution for therapeutic purposes and other like institution. [Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994 (42 of 1994), s. 2 (g)]
Means any institution which provides medical or surgical treatment for in-patients, other than: (1) a health service hospital within the meaning of the National Health Service Act, 1977 [See (English) National Health Service Act, 1977); (2) one which is military hospital; or (3) any institution carried on for profit [See (English) Road Traffic Act, 1988, s. 161(1) definition substituted by the Road Traffic (NHS Charges) Act, 1999, s. 18(3)].
