Definition :

Gross rent, means not only the rent which the land-lord could get in lieu of his enjoyment of the property assigned to the tenant but also all other charges incidental thereto. Service charge can be taken into account while determining gross rent, Calcutta Municipal Corporation v. Damodar Ropeways and Construction Co. Pvt.
