Definition :
General warrant, A process from the Secretary of State, to arrest (without naming any person) the author, printer, and publisher of such libels as were specified in it. It was declared illegal and void for uncertainty by a vote of the House of Commons, Com. Jour. 1766, April 22 and 25. And see Entick v. Carrington, (1765) 19 St. Tr. 1030; also Wilkes v.
