Definition :

Energy, means any form of energy derived from fossil fuels, nuclear substances or materials, hydro-electricity and includes electrical energy or electricity generated from renewable sources of energy or bio-mass connected to the grid. [Energy Conservation Act, 2001 (52 of 2001), s. 2(h)]

it means electrical energy:

(i) generated, transmitted or supplied for any purpose, or

(ii) used for any purpose except the transmission of a message. [Indian Electricity Act, 1910, s. 2(g)]
