An amendment to an insurance policy; a rider, Black's Law Dictionary, 7th Edn., p. 548.
It means the signing by the consignee or the endorsee after adding a direction on a negotiable multimodal transport document to pass the property in the goods mentioned in such document to a specified person. [Multimodal Transportation of Goods Act, 1993, s. 2 (h); Railways Act, 1989, s. 2(13)]
It include and apply to an entry in writing by a registering officer on a rider or covering slip to any document tendered for registration under this Act. [Registration Act, 1908, s. 2 (5)]
