Definition :

Endemic disease. A disease habitually prevalent in a certain country and due to permanent local causes, Oxf. Dict. Public Health Act, 1936, Part V. (ss. 143 et seq.), repealing and extending the (English) Public Health Act, 1875, empowers the local authority to make regulations to prevent the spreading of any formidable epidemic, endemic, or infectious disease.
