Definition :

Embraceor [fr. embrasour, Fr.], he that, when a matter is in trial between party and party, comes to the bar with one of the parties, having received some reward so to do, and speaks in the case; or privately labours the jury, or stands in the Court to survey and overlook them, whereby they are awed or influenced, or put in fear or doubt of the matter, 19 Hen. 7, c. 13 [repealed by the (English) County Juries Act, 1825 (6 Geo. 4, c. 50), s. 62].
