Consistently, the expression 'consistently with the maintenance of efficiency of administration' used in Article 335 is related not only to the qualifications of those who are appointed, it covers all consequences to the efficiency of administration on account of such appointments, Indira Sawhney v. Union of India, 1992 Supp (3) SCC 217 (564). (Constitution of India, Art. 335)
