Definition :

Coastal area, means the area declared as the Coastal Regulation Zone, for the time being, in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment and Forests (Department of Environment, Forests and Wild Life) No. S.O. 114(E), dated 19th February, 1991 and includes such other area as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify [Coastal Aquaculture Authorities Act, 2005 (24 of 2005),
