Baptism [fr. b'ptzeiv, Gk., to dip]. One of the two Sacraments of the Church of England, the other being the Supper of the Lord (Art. Xxv.). by the (English) Baptismal Fees Abolition Act, 1872 (35 & 36 Vict. C. 36), it is rendered unlawful to demand any fee for the celebration or registration of baptism. See Canons, 68-70.
