Ashpit. The (English) Public Health Act, 1936, contains provisions as to ashpits and the cleansing of them (see ss. 72 et seq.). S. 11(1) of the (adoptive) (English) Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1890 (53 & 54 Vict. c. 59) (repealed by the (English) P. H. Act, 1936), declared that 'the expression 'ashpit' in the (English) Public Health Acts should, for the purpose of those Acts, include any ash tub or other receptacle for the deposit of ashes, f'cal matter, or refuse
