Approved society, Anybody of persons, corporate or unincorporate (not being a branch of another such body), registered or established under any Act of Parliament, or by Royal Charter, or having a certain 'prescribed' character, which complies with the provisions of the National Insurance Act, 1936 (a consolidating and amending Act), and has been approved by the Minister of Health under s. 73 of the National Insurance Act, 1936; and see NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE.
