Usufruct, the right of reaping the fruits (fructus) of things belonging to others, without destroying or wasting the subject over which such right extends, Ibid.

A right to use another's property for a time without damaging or destroying it, although the property might naturally deteriorate over time, Black's Law Dictionary, 7th Edn., p. 1542.
