Definition :

Successor, one that follows in the place of another. The correlative of predecessor in the succession, (English) Succession Duty Act, 1883. See PREDECESSOR.

A person who succeeds to officer, rights, responsibilities, or place of another; one who replaces or follow another, Black's Law Dictionary, 7th Edn., p. 1446.
