Subeguzar, means who pay a fixed annual amount for the grant held by them. While the tenure is called 'sube', its holder is called not 'subedar' which has a different meaning but 'subeguzar', Thakur Amar Singhji v. State of Rajasthan, AIR 1995 SC 504.
