Definition :

Signed copy, in Webster's New World Dictionary, the word 'sign' means 'to write one's name on, as in acknowledging authorship, authorising action etc.' Signing means writing one's name on some document or paper. A document was also a signed copy because it bore the signature of the umpire, Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. v. Union of India, AIR 1967 SC 526 (527): (1967) 1 SCR 843.
