Septennial Act, 1715 (English) (1 Geo. 1, st. 2, c. 38). By this Act (enlarging the time from three years) a Parliament had continuance for seven years and no longer unless sooner dissolved. By the (English) Parliament Act, 1911 (1 & 2 Geo. 5, c. 13), s. 7, five years was substituted for the seven years fixed by the Septennial Act.
