Saranjam, the word 'Saranjam' literally means apparatus, provisions or materials. Wilson in his Glossary defines Saranjam as temporary assign-ments of revenue from villages or lands for support of troops or for personal service usually for the life time of the grantees, Dattajirao Bahirojirao Ghorpode v.
