Definition :

Recoverable, the provisions of s. 259 of the Act can be utilised for realisation of arrears of rent on land and buildings only if such rent is recoverable by a Board or a Military Estates Officer under the Act or the rules made thereunder. The word 'recoverable' in the context obviously means 'claimable' for s. 259 itself provides for the manner of recovery, Cantonments Board v. Pyare Lal, AIR 1966 SC 108 (110): (1965) 3 SCR 341.
