Privacy, is defined as 'the state of being free form intrusion or disturbance in one's private life or affairs, Sharda v. Dharmpal, (2003) 4 SCC 493.
Privacy primarily concerns the individual. It relates to and overlaps with the concept of liberty. The most serious advocate of privacy must confess that there are serious problems of defining the essence and scope of the right. Govind v. State of Madhya Pradesh, AIR 1975 SC 1378 (1384): (1975) 2 SCC 148: (1975) 3 SCR 946.
