Petit serjeanty, holding lands of the Crown by the service of rendering annually some small imple-ment of war, as a bow, a sword, a lance, an arrow, flag, or the like. By s. 136 of the (English) Law of Property Act, 1922, nothing in the Act shall affect the services incident to Grand or Petty Serjeanty (which are not to be deemed manorial incidents; see COPYHOLD), and the land is to be held in like manner as if before the commencement of the Act it had been held in free and common socage or had been copyhold as the case may require.
