Personal Action - Definition - Law Dictionary Home Dictionary Definition personal-action
Definition :
Personal action, one brought for the specific recovery of goods and chattels, or for damages or other redress for breach of contract, or other injuries, of whatever description, the specific recovery of lands, tenements, and hereditaments only excepted. The term has been used in a narrower sense to express an action for injury to the person, as for slander, assault, injury by accident, as distinguished from injury to property. It is in this sense that it is said 'Actio personalis moritur cum persona.' See that title, and EXECUTOR and NEGLIGENCE.
