Definition :

Oxgang, means an amount of land equal to what an ox plows in one year, usually 12 to 15 acres. An oxgang, equaling one-eighth of a carcucate, was used to assess land for tax purpose, Black's Law Dictionary, 7th Edn., p. 1132.
