Ordinarily, may means 'normally', State of Andhra Pradesh v. V. Sharma Rao, AIR 2007 SC 137; Kailash Chandra v. Union of India, (1962) 1 SCR 374: AIR 1961 SC 1346; Krishan Gopal v. Shri Prakash Chandra, (1974) 1 SCC 128.

The word 'ordinarily' may mean 'normally'. But, the said expression must be understood in the content in which it has been used. 'Ordinarily' may not mean 'solely' or 'in the name ', and thus, if under no circumstances an appeal would lie to the Principal District Judge, the court would not be subordinate to it. When in a common parlance the expression 'ordinarily' is used, there may be an option. There may be cases where an exception can be made out. The word 'ordinarily' and its meaning always depended upon statutory provision where same has been used. In general, word 'ordinarily' if is considered without any reflection of other statutory provision due to absence of such. Its meaning would be a directory, Tarak Nath Mistri v.
