Moravians, otherwise called Herrnhutters or United Brethren. A sect of Christians exempted from military service in America by 22 Geo. 2, c. 30, and allowed by that Act and by 3 & 4 Wm. 4, c. 49, and 1 & 2 Vict. (English) Oaths Act, 1888), to give evidence on affirmation instead of oath.
