Definition :

Minority, means for the purposes of the study, an ethnic, religious or linguistic minority is a group numerically smaller than the rest of the population of the State to which it belongs and possessing cultural, physical or historical characteristics, a religion or a language different from those of the rest of the population (Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities Published by the Centre for Human Rights, Geneva) T.M.A. Pai Foundation v.
