This appeal is directed against the judgment and order dated 20.1.2003 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Dibrugarh in Sessions Case 39/2001 by which the accused appellant has been convicted under Section 302/352 IPC. The appellant has been sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life and to pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- in default to suffer rigorous imprisonment for six months more for the offence under Section 302 IPC. He has also been sentenced to pay a fine of Rs. 200/- for commission of the offence under Section 352 IPC, in default simple imprisonment for a period of three months.
