1. This appeal of the assessee is against the block assessment order of the Asstt. CIT, Investigation Circle-II, Tiruchirapalli, dt. 30th Dec, 1996. A search was conducted on the assessee's premises under Section 132 of the IT Act, 1961, on 14th Dec, 1995. The block period for the block assessment year consists of the period from 1st April, 1985 to 14th Dec, 1995. The block assessment is completed under Section 158 BC r/w Section 143(3) of the Act. The block return was filed by the assessee declaring undisclosed income at Rs. 3,91,943 and the block assessment was framed at a total undisclosed income of Rs. 5,25,430.Aggrieved, the assessee preferred this appeal before the Tribunal. 1.
